Podcast Producer

Podcast Producer is a new service available in Leopard Server that simplifies the process of recording content, encoding, and publishing podcasts for playback in iTunes, blogs, on iPod, iPhone and Apple TV. It is ideal for university lectures, employee training or whatever audio or video podcasts your organization requires.

Extensible Camera Control and
Content Submission

Podcast Producer provides a framework to control camera agents installed in classrooms and ad-hoc submission of media files. Mac OS X Leopard ships with Podcast Capture, a graphical application that supports these features. The underlying infrastructure for Podcast Capture can be extended. For example, download this sample Ruby on Rails to explore a custom web front-end for controlling camera agents and submitting files to Podcast Producer. Note: This custom ruby application requires Mac OS X Leopard.

Custom Workflows

Podcast Producer provides a robust workflow engine built on Apple Xgrid. This workflow engine can be extended with custom workflows for specific tasks. More information on creating custom workflows is available in the Podcast Producer documentation.
