Biography
Biography:
Alicia K. Russell is the founding director of Northeastern University's Educational Technology Center, the university's hub for the exploration, development and implementation of emerging technologies to support teaching, learning and research goals. Her principal interests center on using technology as a catalyst for educational change. Her research focuses on the exploration of how technology can be used to improve education at the course, program, college and institutional levels. Under Ms. Russell's direction, EdTech staff has developed many scaleable, sustainable, award-winning web-based projects and initiatives.

As EdTech Center director, Ms. Russell brokers partnerships and fosters collaboration among university departments, publishing companies, hardware and software vendors, and organizations ranging from local to international in scope, such as Educause, New Media Centers, and NERCOMP. Ms. Russell holds a BA in English and an MA in Education from the University of Kansas. Prior to entering the educational technology field, she taught English for ten years in the US and Japan.
